FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact Donna Garrison (925) 397-4165 The Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee Announces2008 Event, FIESTA MEXICANA to Benefit ValleyCare Medical Center Emergency Room Expansion ProjectPleasanton: May 5, 2008: The Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee will hold its 11th annual charity event, Fiesta Mexicana, on Friday evening, June 6, 2008 at the Ruby Hill Community Center Pool. This year’s event will be a fun and festive Mexican fiesta set amid the beauty of the Livermore Valley Wine Country, featuring Margaritas, Mexican fare and dancing to the amazing sounds of Garratt Wilkin and the Parrotheads. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Valley Care Medical Center Emergency Room Expansion project. "We are so pleased that the Ruby Hill Giving Thanks group is supporting ValleyCare Hospital again this year,” sites Ken Mercer, vice president of the ValleyCare Foundation. They have been so generous with their support of the hospital and our patients. Helping children who because of circumstances beyond their control have difficulty getting health care because of cost, Ruby Hill's contribution will help pay for services which probably would not have been available to them. " The CommitteeThe Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee, a group of Pleasanton, Tri-Valley and East Bay residents, has devoted itself to throwing elegant galas to benefit charities helping children and families in the Tri-Valley. The grass roots organization of volunteers has donated over $2,500,000 to worthy causes since its inception in 1997. “I’m pleased to be back for our 11th year,” elaborates Donna Garrison, board president for the Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Committee, and who along with Debi Zentner, Naomi Adams and Marjorie Wallace, was part of the group’s inaugural event and founders group in 1997. “We’ve come a long way and it’s fun to be back to our roots, with an event supporting ValleyCare Hospital.” Sponsors and Volunteers SoughtSponsors for this year’s events include Club Sport of Pleasanton and Union Bank of California, in addition to several others giving companies and families.
